Privacy policy
How 3G Solatech handles your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who we are
The responsible party is 3G SOLATECH CC (registration 2008/044440/23), trading as 3G Solatech, of Unit A2, 255 Nadine Street, Robertville, Roodepoort, 1709. Our information officer is the owner, Joseph Nyoni. You can reach us about privacy at sales@3gsolatech.com.
What we collect
When you book a site assessment, call, WhatsApp or email us, we collect what you give us: your name, mobile number, email address, suburb or address, whether the property is a home or a business, your monthly electricity bill range, how you would like to pay, and anything you write in your message. We also keep a record of your consent and when you gave it.
When you visit this website, we may collect technical information such as your device and browser type, pages viewed, and the advert or link that brought you here (for example campaign codes in the web address).
Why we use it
- To contact you to arrange your free site assessment and to send you a quote.
- To answer your questions and provide installation, maintenance and support.
- To pass your details, with your agreement, to a subscription or finance provider if you choose one of those options, so that they can assess your application.
- To measure which adverts and pages work, so that we can improve them.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We use your information on the basis of your consent, to take steps towards a contract you have asked for, and for our legitimate interest in running and improving our business. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with operators who process it for us under agreement, and only as far as they need it:
- our customer relationship management (CRM) provider, which stores enquiries and helps us respond;
- subscription and finance providers, if you choose to apply through them;
- Google and Meta, for advertising and website analytics (see cookies below);
- our website host and IT service providers.
Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers that are bound by laws, rules or agreements giving protection comparable to POPIA.
Cookies and advertising tags
This website may use cookies and similar technologies from Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (the Meta pixel) to count visits, understand how the site is used, and measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries. These tools may receive information such as the pages you view and whether you submitted a booking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage advertising preferences in your Google and Meta account settings.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any installation that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records. When we no longer need them, we delete or de-identify them.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we require our operators to do the same.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us whether we hold your personal information and for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to us using it, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before. To use any of these rights, email sales@3gsolatech.com.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
